What parts do I need for transplanting carbs?

Ok, I talked my buddy into ditching the CIS from the 2.7 we're transplanting and keeping the Webers from the old 2.2. I think they're 40's, but am not sure. We'll get them rejetted later. But for now, what parts do we need for this transplant? We already have new gaskets that go between the CIS manifolds and the intake head ports. I assume we can use those with the Webers. But what else do we need to order? Thanks.

Richard, you will need to get the PMO gaskets that are Ovoid shape to cover up the CIS injector hole. regular gaskets are ineffective. Go ahead and get all the jets you will need. The specs are in the archives. It is required to rejet these off the car since you will have to change chokes. The carbs have to be completely disassembled to do that since you usually ahve to push the chokes out from the bottom to the top through the butterflys.

I think you will otherwise be fine. The fuel pump is already installed in the car. you might as well pull the wiring harness off the 2.2 and swap it to the 2.7. Clean all the contacts as well. The dist should work fine. If not, pull the 2.2 dizzy and put it in the 2.7. this would be a good time to upgrade to a Crane or Pertronix pionts conversion. You already have the linkage setup.

Now, get back in the garage and start wrenching!

- For an original CIS type pump, you will need a pressure control regualtor - PMO has them for about $45.

By chokes I think he means the venturis. Webers lack what most people call chokes, ie for a cold engine.
