Is your '74 flared? Anything larger than 16s might be a challenge.

I've had 17inch wheels on both my RS/SC/Carrera-flared car (R.I.P.) and my RSR-flared car. I think Fuchs look the best on a 911, but that's just my opinion. My 17's are 2-piece wheels made with Fuchs centers.

Wider version is on top, skinnier version down below:

And a more-flattering look at the wider car:

It's a cheap aftermarket wheel made in Japan. Sorry but I don't know the name of the manufacturer. They have the correct offset for a pre-89 911 and are sort of a 968 styled design.

jhelgesen, CBRacerX, what size tires do you have on your 993 cup wheels? I have a set of 993 cup wheels (7.5 & 9 x 17), I'll be throwing on a 79sc (non-turbo)...but I need to go tire shopping.

In related news....what size spacers are you using for front/back.
I heard 1" front, 2" back was what I needed. Does that sound correct?

Thanks!
Juan

I've got about a 1" spacer on the front (extended the studs and used a 924 turbo rear spacer) and much less than 2" of spacer on the rear (extended the studs and used a 930 rear spacer with a 1/4" additional spacer)

Tires are stock 993 sizes for the street 205/255 but 235/265 for the track (Kumho's).

Chris
