I would start at stock .024 and adjust from there. When I converted to carbs on advice from PMO I went to hotter plugs-NGK BP5ES. I am running MSD so I gapped them at .040. Had a high RPM miss Between 6200 and 7000)and eventually after rulling out other things reduced the gap to .035. Viola! Miss gone. So it kind of depends on engine set up as I have also increased my compression ratio over stock. Hope this helps.
