Luke,
I found out Saturday (yesterday) that the car owner is wanting to go again in '08. Between getting that news and having my 86 Carrera Slantnose ready for the Daytona 24 Hours, yesterday was great! Steve E

Hello all,
Maybe this will sound a bit like advertising, if so, just cancel my message. My society (drive-classic) rents classic cars. We organise a trip from Paris to LeMans for Le Mans Classic week end. Pick up the car near Paris and drive to Le Mans on typical little french roads, driving convertibles (911 Targa, MG A, MGB, Alfa Spiders, BMW Z1, Mustang, Lotus Elan, Triumph TR3...) If some of you plan to go to Paris at that time and want to join the Mans Classic Event, just contact me ! SeeYa Dooop cduprat@drive-classic.com |

Just bumping this message up to the top. Classic Le Mans comes ever closer an it would be great to see some Pelican's there.
DDK have over 30 cars going on 1 ferry alone so where will be a great representation of early porsches! See the lead post for details on how to join up with our convoy

I started packing this evening. Not sure how I'm going to get the kitchen sink in but I've pretty much everything else! Off to Skye tomorrow for a long weekend and then start the drive to Le Mans next Tuesday (it's a long way from Scotland). So looking forward to the whole thing and I've got a pair of 2.7 RS's for company!

I'll be in Paris that weekend so I may make it out on Sunday with the gf... Was at Le Mans a couple of weeks ago and I'm still trying to wrap my brain around the spectacle even though I was there in '99.

State side Pelicans
We were the ONLY Porsche team from the US and thanks to our team mates in groups 1-5, we finished with a 3rd place trophy. Man I really miss not going this year, but '08 is right around the corner. Everyone have a blast and be safe. Steve Ed House of Stratton

Again this year's Classic Le Mans was even better, including one grid with three 917's!!! The view from the Dunlop tribune down the straight during sunset with all these amazing cars coming towards us ,the airport and beautifull French countryside in the background....
I really liked the Ferrari 250 GT Berlinetta no. 21 in grid 3, the 904's and gt40's in grid 4, the competition between the Ligier JS3 and the 917 for (first and second place) in grid 5 and finally offcourse in grid 6 the BMW M1's (first appearance this time during the classic), RS, RSR, 934, 935 (including a Kremer), 936. I hope Stefan made some pictures.... Cannot wait till 2008, you should really be there it was worth it! PS You guys from the otherside of the water should really have been here. |
