What is this plastic rectangle?
Can anyone tell me what the rectangle just to the left of the seatbelt is. There is one on the other side as well. Is this some type of vent? It feels like there is a slit on the under side of it.

My '67 had a round plastic disc that was bolted to the sidewall of the car. It helped to anchor the side panel. Maybe that's what it's function is. Does it pry out?

It attempts to hold the rear seat lapbelt out of the way when not in use. They don't work very well.

Seriously, that's what it's for? Why would you need to lift it up, why not just leave it where it is? It doesn't get in the way if you want to put the seats down. Never mind I just thought of why. So that when someone goes to sit back there, they are not intially sitting on the belt. I'll have to see if that works in my car.

I am being serious. The tongue of the lapbelt will fit a grove on the bottom. I will put them up and a day or two later they have fallen again. Porsche trying to make the car more sophisticated.

Is that piece found in coupes as well? They seem to be at the right place to protect the panels from railings when the targa top is placed in the back of the seats.
