Porsche disappoints (again) at the Denver Auto Show
Just got back from the Denver Auto Show, going on through Sunday. I was really dismayed to see the low quality of the Porsche displays and the location. They were in a corner by the edge of the carpet in front of the restrooms, far away from all the action and excitement. This was pathetic. Here are some pics.
Now, look at the following pic and notice all of the huge, tall, majestic marquees reaching for the sky for all the other car manufacturers: And look at the pathetic little sign Porsche put up, right in front of the public restrooms in the ass end of the building: The other marques - VW, MB, BMW, Audi - all had multiple reps answering questions and beautiful models walking around with brochures and a nice desk area. What did Porsche have? One guy sitting in a chair, not mingling with people, looking like he'd rather be anywhere but here. It took me about 15 seconds of staring before I even realized he was working there. There were: 2 Cayennes 2 Boxsters 1 Cayman 3 Carreras So Porsche rents the cheapest area in the place and doesn't even bother to arrange the cars in an attractive way. They were just placed randomly in the space with a cheap-looking sign. I'm really disappointed. They were easily the LEAST inspiring display in the entire show. Thanks again, Porsche. Best of luck in the future.

I wasn't at the latest Minneapolis show but in years past it didn't matter what the display looked like, it would still draw the largest crowds.
It seems people just like these cars. What's with that?

That looks like the Anaheim Autoshow or just as bad. Porsche didn't show up this past year to my local show. From now on, its only the LA Autoshow and man does Porsche spend some money for this show, heck they have their own room.

There was no Porsche display at the San Diego Autoshow, so it could be worse...

Before you guys start blaming Porsche, you might want to consider whether or not the display was put there by Porsche or the local dealer. Porsche AG will have displays at the big international shows but at the lesser ones, like the one we have here in Tulsa, the cars are entered by the local dealer, and Porsche doesn't have squat to do with it.
I'm not sure which category Denver falls in but I don't think its a major international show. JR

P-Cars at the Dallas Auto Show have typically been shown by dealers.
With the ludicrous cost of trade shows, one can't blame down-scaled displays. Media ads are going to capture a much larger segment of population than car shows.

Porsche is one of the most profitable automotive manufacturers in the world. I agree, they should spend a little more on the "Bling" factor at the shows.

The cost for space at any auto show is astronomical....Here in Detroit Porsche has a very impressive display but the press is like ants all over the Detroit show which is probably one of the reasons why they invest so much.
Overall Porsche probably picks the best shows with the biggest return on their investment. I think the serious porsche buyer isnt someone who just happens to stumble by the display at an auto show but someone who is very famaliar with the brand and it's offerings.
