Hesitation on carbs

I have 2.2 T freshly rebuilt, it had webbers on it but there was hesitation when I accelerated, had the carbs rebuilt but still the same hesitation, I decided to bite the bullet and get a set of PMOs (I have them on my 914-6 and they're great) but I still have the hesitation ☹️, I didn't replace the linkage could this be the problem or could it be something else, getting desperate now it's ruining my driving experience

Check your accelerator pump volume and ignition timing. You‘re probably going lean when opening the throttles.

Brian, just a few quick checks . What are the jets in the carbs ?
34mm chokes , f11 emulsion tube , 125 main, 150 air , 55 idle, 130 idle air , ect ,, this is all from the PMO company. The pump rod needs to have a very specific length adjustment . measure the length of the threads showing past the adjusting nut , post this with all the jet sizes you have
My quick guess is that you will need a idle air jet change from 130 to 120 or 110 and a pump rod adjustment. Are the PMO's new ? the may need a pump cam update .

check linkage balance L to R. If one side goes lean from improper linkage adjustment it will hesitate.

I have seen a few issues where the replacement linkage bars are not bent correctly resulting in arm length differences, This means that the arc travel is different L to R. Easy to correct with some careful measurements.

Make sure the balance is spot on before messing with the jetting. airflow issues will greatly mask the fuel delivery issues.
