And I thought we were tough....

It's true - apparently we have a reputation as a take-no-bs board. for better or for worse.

but this is what happens to trolls on f-chat.

http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=106079

It's long, but it's worth it.

I couldn't get through it, too long.... but what I did get through bored me. I can't relate to a bunch of guys doing what sounded like beating their chests with claims that they can make a call and order $350k automobiles. Talking about "their relationship" with their dealers. BFD.

Maybe that's why I'm here. The guys here that CAN afford to do that - and I am sure there are a few - DON'T flaunt it, they don't even mention it. They just talk about their cars and seem pleased (or at least tolerant)of the many opinions and pieces of advice they get. You know, just like "car guys"....?

This thread should be titled " Why I decided NOT to buy a Ferrari when I had the chance".

What a bunch of morons...the lot of them.

BBSites (or is it BSSites) like that for Ferrari should help generate a LOT more interset in Porsches! Do you think all F-car owners flip the bird to each other as a greeting on the road, too?

Dan has it exactly. I dunno if that group is typical of Fcar owners - I suspect not. But therapy would be a lot cheaper for them than a spendy car.

It's certainly typical for F-chat, anyway. They often appear to derive more pleasure from 'outing' a poser non-owner than they do 'not driving' their low mileage cars. But F-chat is mild compared to lambo-power. That forum is truly nasty.

Funny stuff. However the user that was busted, "deeroff", has some posts on rennlist! Just for grins, I did a search as I saw that he made claims of having a CGT. In one of his posts on rennlist he mentions that he's getting the F-car...

I guess I had too much time on my hand!

How about a straight answer, or are you just too important? You patronising condescending little man!
Wow.

That, and he wasn't even a "Silver subscribed" member!!

I couldn't even read it. It wasn't about cars. I didn't learn anything.

Could smell the ego from here, though...

Really, it sounded like a group of 16 year olds pretending like they owned Ferraris

If you skip to page 3 or 4 it gets better quicker.

Summary - guy makes lots of claims to having ferraris, gets outed as a liar, guy who outs him finds lots of posts on different forums, all conflicting, takes photo of self in front of two ferraris flicking liar off. but the build-up is funnier than my summary.

I agree - those guys are pretty out there. But maybe if we'd spent 300k on our cars instead of 20, we'd be more protective of our club? I dunno. I'll let you know when I get there.

Jeez, I can't help but feel pity for a poor bastard that has to spend $300K on a car and then brag about it on the internet to total strangers just to validate themselves.

I'd rather spend $300K on a big garage, some decent tools, a nice fishing boat, a half dozen nice clean cars that interest me and have the time to work on them and then brag about that to complete strangers on the internet.

I've dealt with a couple of the F-chat guys and they were nice. I think the problem with their board is that they have a ton of posers. Everyone writes about all the Ferraris they have but very few do have them. When they find out, they jump all over the poser.

Or the poor bastard that DIDN'T spend $300,000 (apparently) on a car and then brag about it on the internet (that he DID) to toal strangers for validation.
