What is my car worth? pics

I have an '83 Cab that I am going to be selling to make room for a 993. It has 82,xxx miles wth a 3.6 engine swap with similar miles, turbo tie rods, turbo front brakes, Bilsteins, H4 headlights, Carrera front bumper, Fikse FM10's 7x17's 9x17's with new Yokohama tires, paint is near perfect and the interior is in good shape it has 1 scratch in the passenger front seat and a 3 in scratch on the passenger side of the dash board. I am not sure what the car is worth due to the mods or where the best place to advertise would be. Thanks for the advise.

I'd pull the wheels, H4's, and turbo brakes and sell them separately. You wont get their worth by making them part of the car.
Hopefully you have the OEM parts stashed for just such an occasion.
P.S. I'd be interested in the wheels depending on the price. PM me if you decide to separate.

You might try reposting on the value discussion board...

I think its a great looking car. I agree with Nine9six about parting it out though. If that isn't up your avenue, I wouldn't sell it for anything less than $18k. You may get more from someone who is looking for a 3.6L fan that really wants to build this car up.

hmm 3.6, cab, good brakes etc... seems like low 20's... takes a special buyer though I think 23K would absolutely cap it though...

one other thing though take care of the console and shifter before trying to sell it... shift boot, loose the aluminum shift knob and make the shift console look sharp .... just my opinion.

It seems odd that you've done, or bought, some very sophisticated mods and yet you have no idea of worth?

Owners who have cars like yours typically know precisely what their cars are worth...

Depends on what year the 3.6 is.....Big difference between say a 1990 and a 1997.....Looks like an early one from the photos

I am guessing the engine is 94 or 95 from the photos.... the early ones had aluminum intakes.

I have a co-worker here in Colorado Springs shopping for a car identical to yours. If you PM me at slownrusty@yahoo.com and pass along your contact info I will forward it.

Thank you all for you opinions unfortunantly I purchased the car exactly how it looks in the pictures so I do not have the option of parting out the car. I have been told by a couple of local shops including one dealer that the car would be worth any where between 23-25k I am just not sure where the best place to advertise a car like this would be. I have seen a number of cars with the 3.6 swap on the board but, only seeing full race cars for 30k and beyond. thanks again for the advise oh and the engine is out of a '94 964

I agree about cleaning up some of the cosmetics -- shift boot and knob and also consider the heat duct in back instead of that duct arrangement. Then take some really nice pictures -- or even get someone who knows how to do it to take some pictures. It doesn't make a lot of sense, but it's true: the initial impression the car makes is usually with online pictures, and a big part of the buying decision is going to be made based on those pictures.

I agree about the ducting. See if widebody911 has any of his carbon fibre ones left. That will make a huge difference in cleaning up the engine compartment.

Also where in Denver are you? I think you are better selling that to an enthusiast.

I have been trying to find some ducting that will actually work on the car but have been unsuccessful. It is definetly one of the things I would like to fix before I sell the car. I have not seen the carbon fiber ones that widebody911 made. Does anyone have any links to pictures or where I can buy one? I live in North Denver in an area of town called the Highlands. Thanks again

Do the cleaning, repair, mods now and have it ready to sell in April-May.

As far as where to advertise, wait until it is ready to be seen, driven and title transferred. The normal places are Pelican FS and others. In late March (if the snow has melted), put advs in the RMR-PCA newsletter, the local Craigslist and the papers. Give all the shops color flyers.

It appears to be a really nice car with desirable mods.

Best,
Grady

+1. Spring, or early Spring, is the besttime to sell a ragtop. Good luck with the sale.

Thanks for the link. I just sent him an e-mail hopefully he still has some of those tubes left. I have been looking everywhere for a solution to the dryer vent for heat.
