Can anyone explain the burning folders. I can tell there has been some changes made, but I'm not sure how to utilize all of them. How do you leave your signature after a reply without typing it each time? Thanks

The PCA Potomac Region (www.pcapotomac.org) site also uses Ultimate BBS software for its forum. However, there, the file folders show a different color if you have not read new messages therein since your last visit. Very handy. Not sure why this board is not using this feature.
- However, I note that Pelican has added a Smiles Legend when drafting a response like this. Now we can add:  - -  - -  and others. Sometimes a bit of humor helps.- Chuck [This message has been edited by patalive (edited 08-03-2000).] |

Thats wierd... my computer shows me which threads I have read and not read by changing the color. Wonder why others can't see it. But then of course, I wonder why some of the pictures people post come up a a little box w/ an x in the middle. While from reading other peoples posts that follow...they can see the pics w/ no problem.

Chuck -- not sure why you and others aren't seeing the colored icons -- it's always worked OK for me. Could be a caching proxy server and/or browser settings. The UBB software (I think) uses cookies to save your login info and also to keep track of your last visit. Do you block cookies on your browser?

I don't believe I have anything blocked; particularly since the colored folders feature works with the PCA Potomac BBS. As I mentioned, it too uses the Ultimate BBS software. On this board, ALL the file folders are yellow in color. I am always on the board, lurking, so it's not a problem; just puzzling.
