Does anybody know how well the Targa chassis takes to wide body modifications like this? Does it put too much stress on the Targa chassis?

i would NOT kick that car out of my garage! very nice!

Doug, you are most certainly a Porsche slut. I hope you find true Porsche happiness soon!

For nice looking targas check for a blue car sold by Bobby Smith on the early S board (might have been advertised here) maybe a year ago. Of course Curt Egerer has a spectacular car that i'm sure you've seen.

The best look, IMO, on a impact bumper Targa is polished Fuchs (w/ black background of course) and a ducktail.

Wow...thanks Dan. I've thought about selling it a time or two, but fortunately I've come back to my senses each time. I recently deep sixed the polished lug nuts in favor of black. Here's another shot or two:

I know Targa's aren't everyone's cup of tea. Mine's a street and track car and I live in a warm climate (Southeast). Except for track activities, the top stays off for about 8 months of each year. So, the Targa works well. Like everything else, the overall look is a product of many countless details. Just a matter of working with the platform to achieve the look that turns you on. Getting a Targa right isn't as easy as it is for a coupe since the lines aren't as synchronous. But the finished product can be just as nice.

Berettafan, you speaking of this blue targa?

I purchased this from Bobby last year. Just recently had it up for sale for personal reasons but looks like I'm keeping her which I have no problem doing.

Kirk--now that's a hot targa! The chrome trim and roll bar look fantastic with that blue.

Some great Targas here. Thought I would ad my '87 to the mix.

Thanks Jon....waiting to put my personal touches to it. Already have a ducktail and deciding on what front spoiler to mount. And I do like the FAT rears too, so maybe flares. The black one up top that Doug posted is definitely inspirational. Would look nice in blue.

thinkfloyd14:

Great eye!

That is GMR.

My absolute favorite road in the world, except...there are a lot of bicyclists on the very, very twisty, tight portions and it is really too dangerous (from a liability standpoint) to drive in a sporting manner.

The number of bicyclists using this dangerous portion of road has increased dramatically over the past two years or so.

Mike, yeah I've driven that road many times. I'm not too worried about the bicylists though, i'm more worried about the steepness off the edge. One time I parked and walked around a bit, looked over the edge and saw nothing to help even slow down a car from comin off the cliff. Thats why I maybe drive 7/10 on that road.

I agree with Dan. This targa is HOT.
In my book, this targa gets elevated to 'coupe status'.

Not a rod by any stretch, a 77 ROW - still fun.

Recale - I like the widebody kit. Prehaps when my Targa goes into for a makeover one of these days I will give her a lift! I like'm wide!

2.2E converted to 2.4E high compression, Crane Ignition, Webers, 21/26, 19mm SW front/rear, bushings, Carrera cooler, JWest Engineering Shifter, Momo...

Considering a 4-point roll bar so I can add harnesses for DE.
