1987 Targa - gone but not forgotten

Looking back at these photos I wonder why I ever sold this great car. Purchased it in 2004 with 26000 miles. It was my first new 911 after not having had one in the garage since 1975. Second picture is the Concours in Denver, won the novice class on the first try.

That car show was June 6, 2004. Looks like my car was 3 cars down from yours! Here's a pic of my car with yours a ways down on the right.

I swapped out my rear lower quarters (look at the picture) and bought a second lower rear valance so I could keep my original and cut the 2nd one for my dual out. You have the turbo tray where mine is the tea tray.

Gotta love the ability to personalize our cars! I bet you are like a kid waiting on Christmas to get the car!
In fact I have a brandnew set of 17" Rota's for the car too, but like the wheels You put on yours much better !

And yes... You bet I'm like a kid waiting for X-mas... I'm counting the days now....

The best way to experience Guards Red--on the autobahn!

Better--on the approach to Zuffenhausen!

Now I am confused: A book on the 3.2 Carrera by Tony Corlet states that the Carrera was never produced by Porsche in Guards red. India red was used from 1984 to 1986, and changed to Indian Red from 1987!!!

There were other Reds also, India, Kiln and Ruby red in 83/84, India and Garnet red in 85/86, Cherry/Carmine and Indian red in 87/88, Indian, Maraschino red in 87/88, Indian and Velvet red in 89, but never any Guards red!!!

Do we need to change the title of this thread?

But he is wrong!!! Look at color plate for my car:

I will try to EMail this gentleman and ask him to explain my color plate!!!
