I know what you mean. If I had the money, I'd probably have a warehouse full of them with every little variation. I hate it when people say that 911's all look the same. |

I have had quite a few 911s but never a red one until 2010 when I bought this 86. I drove it from Athens, OH, Oct 2011 to Spokane. WA. It never missed a beat w/21-23 mpg. I never liked red in any car but tastes change and I deemed this one my last 911. Who knows? |
my 1977 S. Original color - just with some new "stuff" added.

I couldn't resist posting some more correction pictures!
http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g1...2/IMG_4063.jpg http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g1...2/IMG_4068.jpg http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g1...2/IMG_4069.jpg I have had quite a few PMs looking for what products I use, so here's the basics. If you would like more info, please feel free to PM me :) First, I wash and claybar. I used a dual action polisher (porter cable 7424) in a two-step correction. I would go at cutting with an orange hex-logic pad and Meguiars 105. Then finish with a white finishing hex-logic pad and Meguiars 205. Finally, seal and wax, and honestly the car is a completely different entity in the sun or direct light. Beauitful! |

Question, Are the black stone guards a factory option on the SC's?
Im debating on weather to put them on mine. After looking at all these pictures, my guard red SC seems naked:) http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1364612433.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1364612589.jpg (now sold) |
Mine is an 89 Carrera, so I cannot say about the SC, but I put my stone guards on the week I bought it (back in '95). I think it gives some definition to the rear haunches and though they will never be as wide as a turbo, it does accentuate them some. I also like the break up of the mass of red down there and they match the other black parts. I have the mirror bra's on my flag mirrors more for the black look than the protection.
@lada -did your tint guy forget to do the driver and passenger windows and the windshield tint strip? |
Mine now with duck tail and staggered 17x9 and 16x7's, got to lower it a bit on the back.

As far as the stone guards, I think they look good on a car with a whale tale. If mine didnt have it, I would just go for the clean/classy look and leave it off every car I ever owned was red:)) http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1364613684.jpg 1986 Audi coupe GT http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1364613729.jpg 1983 Audi UR Quattro with my dads 81' SC http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1364613853.jpg 1991 VW GTI 16V http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1364613948.jpg |
The red and black contrast just work in my opinion.
My tint is slightly ummm darker than allowed. 20% In Florida you need it. Sun is bright and hot, but I also like how it looks. Tint is the fisrt mod I do on every vehicle. |
Guards Red is best
Oh sure, why not?http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1364663422.jpg
