Question Gt3 Orange Is Not Signal Or

GT3 orange is not signal orange 116 or continental orange 107 or orange 156. I have read in these threads that some people thought the 2 were the same. I still cant decide on the final color. Which orange would you like on my 74 ruf conversion ?

GT3RS is Artic Silver, Black, Green and Orange. No more, no less.

For me Tangerine is the bomb on an old car. The Jagermeister 934 is the all time favorite.

Good luck,

Tom

HA, your poll is showing that all but signal orange is in a dead tie!

Sometimes there isn't a perfect choice until you make one and learn to love it. With these colors being so close together I don't think any choice will be a bad one.

I don't mean to interrupt your thread, I am just wondering where you get that touch-up paint at?

Thanks!

And I like the orange on the bottom!

paint color matching

This is almost an impossible question to answer.....which color. The best answer is of course...the color you "want to look at every day".

When you are selecting color samples, always apply them to a slick smooth surface that is white on any color in the warm sclae and to gray on any color in the cool or dark scale.

For "real" color comparisons, we take cheap slick poster board and clear coat it with Krylon Clear. Then we apply our paint chip color. After its dry we often re-spray it with clear to simulate a wax application.

For single stage paint, your dried sample will be very close to the finished product. For base coat/clear coat colors the sample must have the clear coat on it to render the actual color as it will appear.

Last and most important...only match colors in natural daylight. No artificial lighting of any kind.

Personally, I like the #156 in your photo. It is a bright color, easily visible and does not scream "orange". I'd like to see a sample on white for a true color.

Well since you asked, I think the GT3, blood orange, pumpkin shade is a bit on the trendy side. And a trend which is about two years old. Just yesterday I saw an S4 in this shade. It looked cool but soon this hue will appear on every Nissan Sentra and Honda Civic you run into.

Tangerine is a classic 911 color and I doubt there are a lot of cars which can pull it off quite as nicely.

Continental Orange 107!

Congrats -- your car is looking awseome. I've had my continental orange for almost a year and the color still makes me salivate. You'll really notice a differential in shade vs sunlight when taking photos. Enjoy your toy.

SUNNY SHOT vs

SHADY SHOT
