I've never seen linen grey in person, but it does appear darker in the picture posted above.
Keep in mind though, it is a metallic as I thought you were looking for a solid...

beige grey, code is #622.
changes color from grey as there is an inherent richness in some of these old non-metallic colors, i think that there must be some green in the grey-beige.

Slate grey 1989 Carrera 3.2 ROW. The colour changes from charcoal, to bronze to medium grey to almost black at night, never the same.

Like saintz' Slate Grey, the color of my Venetian Blue also seems to change, depending on the light. The pic I posted is with the car in filtered sunlight; looks pretty bluish, huh? But when in the dark (or shade), and sometimes in direct bright sunlight, the car looks fairly boringly grey. Usually, when I post a pic of my car, most people guess it's Slate Grey. I don't think it's ever looked as charcoally dark as saintz' car, though.

35U? The paint code on my 87 venetian blue is 36P.

Let me go see what's listed in the front trunk of my car. I got that 35U paint code from the Porsche 911 Red Book.

edit: Seems you're right. The sticker on my car reads 36P, also. Red Book must be incorrect, then. Apologies.
