I'm gonna take a muddy, slushy drive in my '72 today with lights on. I can do that with a fully functioning charging system and battery thanks to Warren. RIP.

Wow! I just saw this (I haven't been able to access the website for a few days) and I'm saddened. Warren helped me out so much with his posts and emails that I really wish I could have thanked him in person for all he did for me. I will miss Warren! I'm praying for his family and friends as he was a very special person!!

My friends son, Brian died at the age of 25 from cystic fibrosis this year and I witnessed his suffering since he was a small child. Warren certainly beat the odds and lived life to the fullest. His life was rich with friends and wonderful admirers. His passing is a great and terrible loss to all of of us, but he leaves a legacy of caring for people and his passion for spreading his wisdom and knowlege. Warren was a real gem and he will be missed very much.

They say that one does not die when they make a difference and are well remembered by their friends.
So with that, Warren's still with us, thanks to this board.

very unfortunate he had to go but as a newbie to both this forum and 914 world, i noticed a lot of people cared. it means a lot im sure to him and his family and its amazing how a common interest such as a 914 can bring so many people together. i didnt know him but its nice to see there are still some good people left.

Rest In Peace Warren......you are and forever will be missed.
As Wayne mentioned, we have lost many great people from our community over the years....i dont know if this is appropriate or not, but perhaps a hall of fame to show our respect to those that have come and gone and given us so much. Rest In Peace.

When someone you truly know passes, they take a part of you with them. He took a part of me, because I am deeply saddened like so many PelicanHeads. Warren must have entered with a soul that was decorated with parts of us. Rest in Peace.

Warren was renowned also in Europe, in particular for providing us with the technical documentation for the Bosch 3-pin and 6-pin CDIs. This was a key contribution, just to name one of them.
Rest in Peace, Warren. jmchrist for the French-speaking Club911.net (www.club911.net) |

Its truly sad to hear that we've lost such a great person, but it is good to hear he was well loved by all here.
Perhaps a joint effort from people on the board to build a Porsche racer in his memory with a charity donation fund in his name would be a suitable tribute? Cheers Aaron |

Very sad news, indeed.
Rest in Peace, Warren. I've enjoyed reading your contributions to this forum. As I move toward the purchase of my first 911, I'm sure I will have the opportunity to benefit from your legacy here... Sincerely, Tim

Our friend, Warren Hall, was buried January 5, 2008 in the Liberty Hill community, just outside of Mt Pleasant, TX. Below is Ryan Vestal's (bigchillcar) tribute posted in OT. I thought you would all appreciate knowing about his final journey on this earth. My thoughts will follow.

Ryan,
Beautifully done, thank you so much for telling the story. Pat is fortunate to live close to so many family members. I'm sure they will help her through this difficult time. One of the things I found interesting in my short time with the family was how genuine, friendly and kind they all are. Getting to know them told me volumes about Warren. You can all rest assured, he was the real deal. The service was truly beautiful. Warren's cousin David officiated and another cousin David led all of the hymns. A few of us told what he meant to us. I was honored to be able to speak for the board and in doing, made sure his family knew how much he was loved here and how much he will be missed. Pat wants everyone here to know how much she appreciates all of the generosty and kindness that came from Warren's on line family. As Ryan said, after he got the laptop he watched Pelican every day while in the hospital. All of the comments, get well messages and donations let him know just how much he was respected and appreciated. I am so grateful to have been able to meet Kurt, Ryan and Ned and that Bob made the drive. I know that meant the world to his family. It struck me standing outside the church how much the setting reminded me of the opening scene in The Big Chill. It was fitting that we had bigchillcar there in person. As a tribute to Warren, Pat asked to ride in a Porsche to and from the cemetary instead of the limo. On the way to the car, I asked her if she had seen the movie and she said yes and laughed out loud when she realized it too. Here are a few pictures of Warren's on line family. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
