leather redying question - leatherique
Hey guys, quick question I think. I got my sport seats in and am ready to tackle my interior redo project. I will start with the leather redye. I decided to use letherique based on other's shared opinions. I missed them on Friday, and was tied up the last couple of days with other things, so I thought I would ask here. I am getting the whole kit with prep stuff and all. What size kit do I need for my job? I am redying front sport seats, rear seats, door panels, and basically all other leather pieces in the car.
Thanks, and also thanks to those who have already posted their experiences with this type of job. They have been inspirational and I hope mine turns out as well as some of yours. Now I need to make a trip to Hobby Lobby and pick up an airbrush.

Shane, buy the smallest kit....I think 16 oz of dye. I bought too much. I got the 32 oz kit based on their recommendations....WAY TOO MUCH. This is how much I had left after redying the front seats. From left to right: Prepping Agent 32 oz, Dye 32 oz , Prestine Clean 16 oz and Rejuvinator Oil 16 oz.
I did not have good luck with the crack filler......its white in base color and shows throuhg the dye after it dries. Others have had probs as well. Not worth the effort IMO. BTW, I ordered some burgundy dye to redo a leather chair......it arrived today for our newly repainted guest room. Great product.....highly recommend. AND, without a doubt, the airbrush is the way to apply.....you will otherwise see brush marks with a brush and streak marks with a sponge brush. ![]() B4 and after pics: ![]() ![]()

Help w/ Leather Reconditioning
Maybe you guys can help me out with reconditioning my seats as it looks like you did a great job on yours!
Here are some pics of my seats. Obviously, the drivers seat is the worst. You can see where the leather is cracked and has even peeled away. What would be the process and products I need to fix these? I have purchased the Leatherique Rejuvenator but not sure if I need dye also... Any help is much appreciated! Thanks! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

you need dye. Your pax side seat is not that bad (typical), but the driver's side definitely needs redyed. I am getting ready to start on mine as soon as my work and house remodeling schedule slows a bit. Good luck!

As in Wayne's 101 Book go to your local Grocery Store and pick up oridinay shoe dye, the one with the spounge applicator.
It works great, just be patient and apply several coasts. I keep it in the car for touch ups. I redyed my sport seats and they look awsome for their age.

Ordinary shoe dye, really? Does it come in Navy blue?
Will it rejuvenate those cracked areas? Should I apply it to the whole seat for matter of conformity of color? Do you have a link to Wayne's 101 Book by any chance? Thanks!
