Jeff - I could not believe the difference either but the scale does not lie. The Turbo Twists require 3" spacers on the rear, 1" on the front. I think the tires, wheels, spacers etc. all contribute to the difference. Keep in mind there could be a 3 to 4 gallon variable of gas as well. While not a lot, it all adds up.

One could argue that is one day the scale changed that much but the scale I used is at work and is calibrated for DOT so I assume it to be accurate.

I just weighed mine. The car and me are both going on a diet. I need to loose 20lbs, and the car needs to loose 140.

1976 Targa
1985 3.2 engine
Carrera power doors
Carrera rear flares
Carrera front spoiler & Fog lamps
Two amp stereo with 2 8" subs behind the seats
Carrera 8-way power seats.
16" Fuchs
Big-ass Autozone battery.
Alarm system.

2739lbs with a full tank of fuel.

Today I pulled the AZ battery and replaced it with an Odyssey for an instant 21lb savings.

Next to go will be the window washing system, and then the power seats, and rear seatbacks.

Road warriors don't worry about weight while carrying what they need...only effete little track guys believe the mantra: "You cannot spend too much or weigh too little."

Paulo - Just a beautiful car! And I enjoyed the Excellence Magazine article on you and the car. Again, just beautiful.

My 1988 Carrera is 2720 lbs, w/ 1/2 tank of gas and no A/C. I don't even want to know what my Carrera 4 weighs...

82 Euro SC
2431# with half a tank

no A/C
no sunroof
racing seats
no back seats
5 point harnesses
DAS roll bar
fiberglass IROC bumpers
15" Fuchs 7s and 8s
air pump removed
stock H/Es
stock cat
no muffler

Since that weighing I've removed the entire interior for a cage install. All carpet, sound padding, stereo and 4 speakers, door panels, and the floor coating. I suspect even with the welded cage it will come in under 2400.
More pics in my sig.

Do you sometimes run with less oil than you need?
