Please Comment on this Hole

I have a 77 so I'm thinking my flag mirror is the old style that requires prying off the glass to access the inside. I know the newer style has a small hole @ the bottom so a screwdriver can be inserted to turn the ring inside that does the same thing.

Is this hole the access hole for the screwdriver? Or, as I'm thinking, merely a drain hole, in which case I'll pry off the glass from the front?

Looks like the ring access hole in my 87 mirrors.

Definitely a drain hole.

The pry hole is oblong (L to R), and in the center, not toward the inside. I have both kinds.

And actually the pry hole mirrors have 2 holes, a drain hole and the pry hole.

Thank you. It looks like it's some gentle prying for me.

I think that's the first time I've given expert advice on a hole.

No, wait, there was that one time...
