Was this a factory option?
It looks more like a custom one-off. Stripping out the interior of my car to install a roll bar and decided "I don't use that stereo, might as well remove the speakers" come to find out this piece was sitting back there for ages protecting my rear shelf from sunlight. Fit in there super tight and was tough to get out. Looks like at some point in this cars history somebody spent a pretty penny on the stereo installation. Also found an old amp under the passenger side seat in it's own mounting box. (Brand concord, made in japan, anybody know any info on this stuff?)
The leather or whatever they covered it in is a dead on match to the rest of the interior, thus the reason I never really figured it wasn't from the factory. I don't see if on the spec sheet that came with the car in '77 though. (By the way this is out of a 1977 911S) Anybody have any ideas? Any interest from anybody in this item? Doesn't really belong in a track car Cheers.

It's an aftermarket piece from the late '70s/early 80s. I'm sure someone will want it. It's a good solution for rear speakers.

How much would people on here say it's worth approximately?

That looks to be a Moch 1 aftermarket rear speaker enclosure. You can still buy them new. They've probably been making them for almost 30 years.
I would doubt there's much market for a non-black used one. http://www.moch-1.com/911Speakers.html Tim |
