If anyone is interested I can post how to fix the ring tone size limit on Windoze Mobile devices.

I loaded the original into my Verizon BB using the USB cable and the BB software, worked like a charm.

This ended up working for me (though dumba$$ luddite me searched the internet for it at 2:30 AM today for quite some time instead of checking here). Delete the following key
HKEY_Current User > ControlPanel > Sounds > FileSizeLimit

I use Total Commander for registry edits - many other options available as well.
