Experience With Dash Installation in '88 Cab?

Anyone ever removed and installed a dash in an '88 Cabriolet? Mine's cracked and is ready for replacement. I hear the windshield doesn't have to be removed.
Any tricks to the removal or is it pretty straightforward?

Are you sure? My mechanic says the windshield doesn't have to be pulled on an '88. Mine's an '88 Cabriolet also. Don't know if that makes a difference.

I read somewhere that when they went with the big vent dash windshield removal was not required. Again this is just hearsay, so I may be incorrect.

there is no reason whatsoever to pull the windshield on the newer dashes. I know, i just replaced mine. If you completely pull out the blower motor, and vents, you can get to all of the nuts easily. It helps too to pull the gauges.
