A much shorter list than everyone else...

1. 1986 BMW 535i - E28 probably the 2nd best car I've owned
2. 1981 Porsche 928 - 5speed, fast, fun and guards red!
3. 1976 Porsche 911S Coupe - The greatest so far!

Throw in a Volvo 244GL and an early BMW 520i and that about covers it. The P-cars have sure made my life a lot more fun. I'm now looking for a motorcycle...

'69 TR-6 (still have) - FUN!

'81 Full Size Bronco 6cyl 4 spd- My father had three criteria for a car to take to college - big - slow - ugly and it fit all three - but it was tough as nails - and safe

'85 Dodge Daytona Turbo - quick and handled pretty well - but the K-car 4 banger couldn't handle the HP

'87 Audi Coupe GT - red - best car I ever owned - had 220 K when I sold it. Only trouble was it had a digital dash that went bad - but Audi did OK by me

'91 Audi 90 Quattro - totaled in a 15 car pile up. Air bag - seat tensioners and I walked away without an scratch or even an ache

'94 Jeep Grand Chero - didn't like it much

'97 Toyota Land Cruiser - awsome well designed vehichle

I have owned more than 30 cars (I am almost 40). The ones that had some significance are as follows. Notice alot of first year and last year production models:

1972 Plymouth RoadRunner - 440ci, 3x2(6-pack) Carburation, manual 3spd Trans., no emissions. My first car at 16 (1977). Got 8-9mpg. Top speed of 140. cornered like a dump truck.

1976 SuperBeetle (the last and the best Bug) fuel Injected, AC, unbreakable (I tried). Got 27-29mpg. Sold RoadRunner and bough Bug after the gas crisis hit in 1979.

1977 BMW 323i, grey market, hardtop-convertible, very rare, very strange.

1988 Scirrocco(sp.), 16V, very fast, very nice, first 16V model

1985 Porsche 944, lots of trouble, a lemon. first 944 model

1987 Porsche 928S4, rare 5spd, great car, smooth, powerfull , first year for S4.

1986 M-B 560SEL, Biggest 8cyl. M-B ever made, best long distance highway cruiser around, First year for 560SEL.

A lot of no-mention cars in the late 80's-90's

1997 Lotus Esprit V8 Twin Turbo, weight 2865 lbs, 350 HP, the closest I have come to a true Exotic (with all the expense, repairs, quirks,....but also attention) got more notice than a
911TT. 0-60 in under 4.4sec top speed 179mph. First V8 Lotus.

1983 Porsche 911 Cab., conv. to 930 S wide body slantnose, with Webbers, S cams, dual exhust,
Sold it.

looking for 964or 993, next car.

1958 Cessna 172 (3yr restore during HS)

Soon to get:

Robert Stoll:

I thought the Fiero finally got it right in 88 with the GT???
I always laugh at them while driving my MR2, allthough they do not have rusty fenders!

Andy Boyle:

Dad had a '59 100-6 Healy white on red. I met Donald as a 12yr old and have his autograph! I loved that car. He sold it before I was 16 and bought a boat trailer with the money ...ahhhhh!

Turbo Dave:

At the time, the Miata was great for autocrossing. The 92 had the limited slip rear end and was even better. I had springs and shocks and alignment work on that car and it was a blast to drive and to look at (sunburst yellow)

Actually drove my uncles 90 Miata the other day , first time in 6 years driving a Miata. Still love the shifter vs my 911 and MR2, but the Toyota is a better car...probably good at autocrossing too!

Tom:

Almost bought a 84 SVO instead of the 85 Celica, but Dad did not approve even though I was buying the car. Neat and rare car!

Bpcsguru:

I love bikes too

had in order or purchase
77 kawi KE75 (7yrs old )
81 yam YZ80 (13 yrs old)
89 yam DT200 (18 yrs old)
85 suza GS550 (21 yrs old)
83 honda CBX550 (25 yrs old)

& my buddies CBR900RR was in my possesion numerous times too WOW it was amazing!

I was THIS close to buying a 2001 YamR6, but bought the 911 instead ...it came up by chance was less money and i always wanted one!

I had owned a few other cars too that were not really worth mentioning, and have driven plenty of others including fond memories in 6.6 T/A and 79's Jeep Cherokee 360cid which was Dads.

Dad now owns a mint 84 RX7 GSL-SE which I convinced him to buy and loves it. I get my hands on it once and a while and it is much fun too!

Lots of diff stuff hear huh? A fun read for sure.... I always loved GTV's and early spiders.

..and JEB

Dad also had a 86 4000s quattro that was an amazing car for the Canadain winter. It has something close to 400000 kms on it last time I heard and believe it is still on the road.

Come to think of it the 85 Jetta was a great car too.

Through the years and certainly after I sold my business, I went through some wild cars. They were and are as follows:

I had numerous other Ferrari's but nothing newer than 1976
Ferrari 275GTB Short Wheelbase
Ferrari 330GTC
Ferrari 308 fiberglass racepreped car
Ferrari 275GTS
Ferrari Daytona
Fiat Dino Conv
Lamborghini Miura (P400..1968)
Maserati Quatroport (1966)
Alfa Duetto (2 1967 and 1 1966)
Alfa GTV
Cooper race car
Mercedes 190SL
Jaguar XKE Conv (1964 & 1967)
Jaguar XKE Coupe (1969)
1967 Porsche 911"S"
1971 Porsche 911"S" Targa (currently own)
1972 Porsche 911"E" Targa
1972 Porsche 911"S" Targa
1973 Porsche 911"S" Coupe (currently own)
1973 Porsche 911RS (lost in garage fire)
1974 Porsche 3.0RSR (German factory car with papers)
1997 993 TurboS (for sale) (currently own)
1970 Datsun 240Z
1974 Pontiac 455SD
1970 GTO Judge Convertable (bought it from my boss when I was a kid)

I am sure I left out something, but I miss most of them and had a good portion of them when their respective prices were very, very low. Still, the Porsches are the ones I have enjoyed the most because they are street drivable cars and I normally don't worry about getting home from my destinations in them. The Alfas were a close second, but they had their moments. All of my Jags were electrical nightmares, but I enjoyed them as well even though the least bit of humidity and they wouldn't start. I guess it just added to the excitement of owning them.

Hmm, I am a little younger than you guys, but...

78 chevy Impala (I proved one cannot kill a turbo 350 tranny)
95 Saab 900 Coupe (died due to a moronic woman who claimed she didn't see the light change)
98 Saab 900 Ragtop (I am a glutton for punishment, but sold due to marriage)
63 Split window vette, fuel injection, NCRS Top Flight blk/blk..probably wouldn't go over well in these circles...but a pretty car nonetheless
Hopefully a 911 within the next week.....

Wow! Some of you guys have had some incredible cars! Lots of Bug air-cooler introductions too.

In order of purchase:
'84 Mazda 626
'92 Honda Accord Coupe (bought new)
'69 VW Bug
'99 Cadillac Catera (bought new for the wife)
'66 VW Bus Westfalia
'79 Porsche 911 SC
'71 Chevy Truck (3 on the tree - love it)

Still have the last 4 cars listed.

The only car I regret owning was the Accord, bad choice and boring. Wish I did not sell the '69 Bug, but had to make room for the 911. I would be hard pressed to sell any of the current cars though, very versitile selection.

Significant to me, in that it was my first car, and I have many fond memories:

'67 Bug, white with black interior. Bought it in '76 w/120K on the clock, and the previous owner had swapped a 1600 in for the stock 1500. This was imho the BEST year of the bug...first one with 12V system, and the last with the old style bumpers and seats. Great on and off road...cruised at 70 without protest. Sold it in '85 with over 250K miles on it.

Two cars I never should have sold...that '67 Bug and the '87 Coupe.

It's amazing...you really *can* get a foot imprint from kicking yourself
