A agree about the Detroit Iron bit. Surprising to see muscle car guys into Porsches. I love all cars really , as I suspect everyone else on here does.
Some guy in a GranPrix GTP raced me last nite... and I am sure as he taunted me on he was a Porsche guy too, even with the NASCAR stickers on his bumper! Yeah, I saw his bumper... but I am going easy on my car.

Bikes
ToyCollector,
Totally agree! I like the "RS" fairing as it keeps most of the rain and wind off of me but I am not old enough for the "RT" fairing yet in life. I am an aircooled nut, being an ex-aircraft mechanic and do not own anything that takes anti-freeze. The 911 motor is a aircraft motor that has been refined and cannot see any reason to ever change. You have one of the best bikes built, ever! The R90S was a trend setter and I may find and restore one yet. Still want an old "toaster tank" R75 again, but need to get back to work and figure out what part of the country this will involve. Are you in BMWMOA? Hope to see you at one of the get togethers! I used to be very active at the national rally but been busy lately.. hope to make the next one. Ride safe! JoeA

Ok, here are mine
You guys are bringing tears to my eyes. Here are some roadmarks on the highway of my life. There were a few other insignificant vehicles along the way. If I sat down and just thought about each of the cars and bikes listed below, and everything I associate with them, I could occupy myself for a very long, enjoyable time.

we had an 81 tercel too! Great little cute car! Ours had many miles on it before we passed it on. They made them like that in 80 , 81, and 82 and some guy down the raod still drives a nice SR5 model around.
I spotted a mint 71 Celica with 75k miles on it last nites drive at a dealer.. they were nifty too.

My mom has a 82 Tercel SR5. My brother and I beat the crap out of that car when were young. I think is is close to 200K now, and still going strong.
If I remember correctly, that little car had a 7000RPM redline. Tom |

Well, let's see.
1985 Maserati Biturbo (don't anyone every buy one) 1988 BMW E30 M3 (fun but unreliable) 1991 Toyota MR2-Turbo, the best rear end swapper from Toyota 1994 Acura GS-R, now just a ball of metal 1984 Carrera Cabriolet, still crazy after all these years! 1998 BMW M3 Sedan, solid as a rock, and bone-stock. And 1987 Ducati 750 Paso, Italian Faberge' eggs on 2 wheels. And surprisingly reliable for an Italian mechanized thing. |

Adam did you mention a Ferrari 206 Dino. Wow that has to be a collectable. If I'm not mistaken the 206 was the predecessor of the 246 model and only a few were built.
1. 1969 Plymouth Roadrunner 383 tripower. First car bought in 70. 2. 1971 Vette coupe 3. 1973 Vette coupe 4. 1974 VW Bug..(how the mighty can tumble during a divorce!) 5. 1969 Chrysler 300...(Great booze cruiser in the UP of Michigan) 6. 1978 Blazer (Finlander Ferrari...Still in UP of MI) 7. 1981 BMW 318i (Germany) 8. 1983 944 (built in 82)..still have. 9. 1979 SC coupe....Lovin every minute of it!

howie-
yes, you are correct. the 206 was the predecessor to the 246. very similar in appearance, but differences in displacement and, if i remember correctly, the body construction. maybe aluminum vs. steel, or something like that? i'll have to ask my father- |

Joe--I used to be active in the BMWMOA. I have cut back on all the brand clubs I belong to, and just ride and enjoy them, and I am spread thin as it is.
I have something with an engine you are probably familiar with--a bird with a Contintental IO-550-B
