What distributor do I have?
Where are the part numbers to identify the distributor? Do I need to remove the dist to see the number? Is there an easy way to tell if the original Marelli has been replaced with a Bosch unit?

Craig,
Best to remove it after turning engine over to firing point for Cyl. #1 ... Z1 mark on crank pulley. The numbers are on the 'fat' main body of the distributor, and quite easily covered up by oil and dirt. A Bosch will have the brand name cast into the body and the ID (Bosch part number) will look close to this: 0.231.184.004 ... always beginning with a '0' and with that grouping pattern and always has 10 digits.

Ok, removed the distributor Marelli S 112 BX. Sounds like parts ie cap and rotor for these distributors are impossible to find. Damn now I need to worry about the distributor too.
What is the recommended replacement Bosch distributor??
