I've been filling my reservoir to the very top, which is clearly not helping this problem.

Is there a "recommended" fluid level on our cars?

I wondered the same thing. Per the SC owners manual "The brake fluid should always be at the top mark"

I just keep mine slightly below the reservoir seam line.

I found this little bottle at Harbor Freight as part of a bleeder kit. The hose takes an S-turn counterclockwise around the reservoir and is retained to the booster mount with a p-clip; the bottle then just hangs off the hose.

I did this five years ago and it still works ok.

Why would you put the bottle below the reservoir AND have the hose never go above the level of the reservoir? All you do is allow the siphon affect to come into play here.

I sucked some fluid out of the reservoir last night. Let's see if I still get some dribbles out of the overflow under normal conditions.

Won't be able to test track conditions in the short term.

Hmmmm .... I had not thought of that, but that said, I've never had to empty more than maybe a 1/2" of fluid from that little bottle. Wouldn't the hose need to extend into the bottle and down into the waste fluid in order to create a siphon? And the bottle is vented.

Jjeffries - this photo from back in this discussion shows what seems to me to be the best way to route the vent line no matter whether it then goes to a catch can/bottle, or to the stock line which vents under the front left of the car. Plenty of room up under the cowl to get a little elevation.
