Suspension Pan Repair: To prep or not?

I'm going to have my front suspension pan replaced and I'm wondering if it's worth doing some of the prep myself. If I remove the gas tank, etc., I'll need to have the car towed. ..or I can drive it to the shop as it is. Do you think it's worth the savings to begin the work myself? It seems like all the prep I'll do will go pretty quickly in the shop.

Not sure what the shop will bill to pull the bumper, tank, etc. but it will most certainly go quickly. Wouldn't bother with it myself.

I believe we all make mistakes but I will not validate your poor choices and/or perversions and subsidize the results your actions.
