Battery Size?

I just picked up a battery for my 85 930 and was surprised at how large it was. I had an Optima with a mounting plate before. I’m having trouble getting it to fit but I’ve triple checked and it’s the recommended replacement battery. Can anyone show me a pic of their battery installed?

Believe me, go with the smaller battery, not the monster that's always suggested by the parts people/stores. I use the battery that's recommended for the SC. It has more than enough amps to crank these cars.

Thanks... that's what it looks like. How do you shoehorn that thing in? I spent 20 min. trying to get it under the hold down lip and couldn't...

I do it the easy way....

And use the 88 amp battery.

1. Remove the condenser fan.

2. Remove the windsheld washer pump.

That way nothing gets hurt.

Good luck,

Gerry

I was able to use the BF handle and slip it in at an angle. (not too graceful)
PO bought it and I've had it out for cleaning the area or winter trickle (so I could get in there).
I'd like to get a smaller one someday. You probably read about the recent heartburn I had - LOL.

good luck

on edit - it was resting on the hold down - I removed it (hold down) for cleaning and figured it's weight was doing a good job - I can't get in there to anchor it.
