Hood Badge change over from Orange bar to Red
OK, I know the restorer's guide says 74, but I'm convinced that Orange bar badges were used well into 75...
Looking for input from 75 owners, and others who have certainty one way or another. My current 75 Carrera is one of the last five built May 75, and orange bar, it's a very original low owner car. My Previous 75 Carrera was earlier again orange bar, low owner, original paint, local car. I've looked at quite a few very low mile original paint cars for sale, and looking at the pics, they seemed to have orange bar badges for sure. Pulled up this thread from years back... http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-911-technical-forum/201753-attention-hood-crest-police.html Anyhow the question has come up again from some folks restoring 75's. My car was built in July of '74 and I am almost certain the badge is the original from factory. It is a red one.

Was it perhaps a "Carrera thing" back then?

My first car was a 1974, I believe from January (but not sure)
It had an orange bar, which I removed and replaced. (still have it...)Production number was/is 2230.

My '74 911 has a orange bar crest, not a S or Carrera.

My '78 has an orange bar crest. The original owner must have switched it out, perhaps after a theft.

I have an all original 1975, 911 made late summer of 74 and it has the original orange hood badge, confirmed from the guy I bought it from, the original owner.
