Sway Bar Droplink Replacement 996 - DIY

My 1996 996 had a rattle in the front end when going slow over bumpy roads. My mechanic said that the sway bar drop links had worn bushings but suggested that this was something that I could easily repair myself. The trick was locating the culprit!!

The repair was quite easy, requiring only the removal of the front tires, a set of metric ratchets and and open end wrench. I was a little worried about this fix because there was so much talk about sway bar tension and such on the various boards, but I guess that is for the earlier models because there was no tension on the drop links even after removal.

the one hang up was that on one side, I actually had the 'unscrew' the bottom link from the swaybar because of the angle.

I give this a 2 out of 10 on the difficulty scale. I hope this can help someone out there!
