First drive with the orange beast
Thought I would share with everyone. My first drive in my recently acquired orange beast. Not very fast and a ton of mistakes, but the car is turning out to be great fun. A bit of pull to the right when braking hard down the straights, but that is being sorted out.

Hey, it's ok.....slow at first, and work your way up to speed.
We need a lot more pics of the outside and inside of the car. And all the poop.....or I mean scoop. You know details, etc.

Ha ha. I thought about that as I grabbed them out of my pile of track stuff. I had actually purchased them when I took the 3 day skip barber course and needed gloves. The only color at the time that I could get my hands on.

Not uncommon at all to run LRP in 3rd and only hit 4th on the main straight, especially if the 911 has a 915 in it.
Car looks great, you should run with PCA and take an instructor out with you. Love that orange!

I do run with the PCA. I am heading up to LCMT in Canada next week. It should be a lot of fun as this is my first time at LCMT.

He was running with SCDA, which is a company that does track days. Instructors are usually provided to each car in the novice group, and are available for the other groups, and you can ride with an instructor in the instructor sessions as well. I know a few SCDA instructors, and they are very talented. One of them who I know pretty well holds a track record at most of the tracks SCDA visits. wink wink, nudge nudge, LOL.

Hey, I've driven and wrenched on that car, even helped drop the engine out of that car (been a few years though).
It is a pretty serious beast... It has come a long way from humble beginnings. Enjoy, it is a good one.

It does sound nice as well.....
I was confused by the gear changes or rather limited changes..... the good bit would be that it lets you concentrate on getting lines, break points and a feel for the limits of the car without distracting your concentration. I have raced bikes for years and have been taugh that we have 10 points of concentration, every time we have to make a gear change is ditracts from the 10 points. Obviously depends how good you are to how many points it detracts. Mark.... Glad you took the gloves comment in theway it was meant...! |
