Need your recommendation: The Body
I put $15K or so into my 69T to get the mechanical issues sorted. Now...
It's time for the body. I have done-it-myself up to this point. I have spent untold hours (and cash) returning this car to road-worthiness. But now I want a hardcore professional shop to do the works on the body. I know a 'T' might not warrant it, but I don't care. It's the car I have and I want it to be nice, T or not. Before I send this car to a very spendy but high-end shop in SoCal, I was wondering if anybody here, in the sea of people who make up this board, can recommend a shop of this sort in Central Florida (or driving distance) who have experience with killer paint and body restorations on LWB 911s? I live in Orlando now, but I hardly trust the people I have met casually in the Porsche restoration industry down here. I see that they do 'nice' work, but I want serious Porsche specialists to handle this phase. For example, a REAL paint booth, not a garage with swagged tarps.. I want ALL the paint off, finished and protected for another 40 years... I guess that's a 'frame-off' paint job. I know on the west coast there is a fine body/paint shop on every corner, 2 for every Starbux. Any suggestions or recommendations are welcome as I prepare to pull the trigger and ship back We$t. Michael
