Backdated SC - the german version...
hi guys!
here is my finished project - it was a 81`SC  http://foto.arcor-online.net/palb/al...6238663035.jpg http://foto.arcor-online.net/palb/al...6436623163.jpg http://foto.arcor-online.net/palb/al...3038646237.jpg http://foto.arcor-online.net/palb/al...6265336131.jpg http://foto.arcor-online.net/palb/al...3932356535.jpg http://foto.arcor-online.net/palb/al...3635616437.jpg |

Backdated SC
Very, very nice. Did you do the work yourself?
What is the white rectangular box above the fuel tank? Do the pop out windows and the vent windows in the doors fit without any issue? Thanks. |
Great looking car. Congratulations

the white box is a filter/aircleaner for the fuel-fumes and yes, the windos fit perfekt.... |
Beautiful color choice.
|
oh i forgot...
this is how the car looked befor the backdate-job in oktober 2009 http://foto.arcor-online.net/palb/al...6533636437.jpg  |
Very nice. Now go get some battery terminal covers!

one of the best I have seen.......

Biggest weight gain from a longhood to the SC are the bumpers, tires and A/C. Only the tires are still there. Just gorgeous! I'd marry that car. |
That looks really good. How did you finish the oil lines?
|
Outstanding vehicle!
Where can one buy the yellow/zinc hose clips? I prefer those to SS Also the fuelcap sticker is pretty confronting! |
Very Sweet
|
The Porsche logo was applied a little unsteadily......

Bet it looks OK at speed. Actually, if you look at it, it does follow the door gap and looks like the door is closed too much. |
Look at the R and S letters.....

Fortunately for me my local mechanic stocks 'correct' stuff and has most of the yellow zinc stuff on hand. You might want to try a specialist mechanic nearby. Even if he doesn't stock them he may be able to throw your original stuff in his next batch of replating. |
You guys are fussy :) That's not a bad thing. I guess I was just 'blinded' by how good the overall package is.
|
incredible...just curious what are the major components involved besides bumpers? how does it affect resale, good/bad or no change?
|
Sweet looking car! I've been collecting parts to do basically the same thing. Love the way this turned out!
|
Beautiful. Love the color. Clean, spoilerless front and rear look great.
|
Really nice....
But, I think the old "SC" wasn't that bad....I'm a bit biased though, I have an '82 in the same color (956 - pewter in U.S. brochures I think).
What size rims & tires are you running? That wheel & tire combo really makes it stand out. I can't imagine it would do anything to the value but add to it - SC's are very "overlooked" 911's these days. It seems most people want a mint, low mile SC for around $15k, which seems a bit low (bias again...). Looks fantastic, and no sunroof - try to find that on a post '74 U.S. 911! Any go-fast engine/transmission/brake mods? |
Nice job!
|
Duuuuuude! Nice. Thanks for sharing these pics.
But do you have any pics of the journey from stock SC to backdate? This is like catching the first and last 3 minutes of a cooking show where you see the ingredients and then the finished dish... |
looks fantastic!
|
One of the nicest I've seen. I'm in love with your car. Glad I don't have to do anything to my '69 to make it look like that. I'd take your car before the backdate. Wow!
