speedometer
I've read the numerous posts concerning odometer gear replacement. Very helpful indeed. However, in the process I too, broke the needle shaft. I am now in the market for a new speedometer, or if anyone has it, the shaft assembly for the needle. I'm not certain if that is even replaceable, but it's worth a try. Please leave me a PM if anyone is able to help. Tks. HJ

I failed to mention on my post that my car is a 1985 911. Thanks again. HJ

Odometer gears
Check out this website....Jeff and Darren are very helpful and know lots about Porsche speedos. Their website gives lots of pics and has detailed instructions.
As I recall, the gear I needed was less than $30 delivered. I also have an 85 911...I have fixed two 85 odometers now...just go slowly, and be patient. Not too bad a job, but worse than installing a Seine shifter kit. http://odometergears.com/porsche.html |
