Any opinions of EUROPEAN COLLECTIBLES?
I have noticed a few nice cars for sale by this outfit.
EUROPEAN COLLECTIBLES 1974 PLACENTIA AVE. COSTA MESA CALIFORNIA, 92627 USA Does anybody have any experience of dealing with them? They have a nice looking (dare I say it) RHD 308 GTB, which would be worth bringing to the UK at that price. http://www.europeancollectibles.com/auto_detail.asp?auto_id=C016 I know they did the austin powers e-type, which looked OK.

interesting selection of cars. i've been to their showroom only once. i was there looking at a car that looked good on their website (low mileage pre '73 targa).
the car looked good from 10 feet away, but upon closer inspection it didn't look like a quality restoration (poor paint respray quality, so-so interior, etc) . based upon my observation, i believed the car was overpriced. that doesn't make them bad guys, it just reinforced the lesson about looking very closely at any car you plan to purchase. my advise to you is to shop carefully. |

I dealt with them in looking at a 993. I spent about 2 hours in their shop in the back where I say some pretty amazing cars. Ground up restorations on early speedsters and a couple 911s models. I believe engine work is outsourced, although the employees I spoke with are knowledgable. I did make a very reasonable offer on a 993, but they never responded. I don't believe think they bargin much. Sort of take it or leave it.

I've been there many times. Like any other car dealer you'd want to put your hands and eyes very close to the product before making a decision.
