M&K tisk tisk noise, car missing?

So I just put SSIs, and M&K 2 in 1 out, and clewett wires on. What a sound difference. But i am also worried about that. It kind of has a tisk tisk sound at idle, but idles nicely at 900rpm. It has never idled that low before, even though it is a nice change. When at speed it has a weird muffler noise, not just the drone but like a miss or something. I cant tell if i am actually having a miss or I am just hearing the new sound. I checked the plug wires and they seem ok. What do you guys think? Any sound clips i can compare too?

Will a soapy water mix help you find any muff connection leaks?

You might just be hearing the actual engine for the first time

The SSIs and M&K will give you a nearly open path between your ears and the exhaust valves, you will hear much more actual mechanical noise through that setup.

You can adjust the idle back up if you want, changing the exhaust will change your backpressure, and that can chance your idle (and your a/f mixture). Most people probably don't even bother to check or notice.

Can you have a passenger record it while at speed?

Usually I run a bit richer AF mix when installing a low back pressure muffler.
The mix changes when you alter back pressure.

Beat to it :0) slow typist.

Ok thanks for the quick replies. I am leaving tomorrow but if i can find a friend tomorrow with a recorder i will get you guys a recording at speed. I guess it could just be me actually hearing the engine too haha. I ran with no muffler around the block and wow it sounds awesome but doesnt go anywhere....I also checked for leaks, found one, but it made no change after i fixed it. Thanks

Should i get my CIS re-adjusted?

My car came with SSIs and a 2 in 2out Dansk muffler (70mm outlets).
BIG exhaust. It idled very low, and loped often. It poped and hissed off throttle, and made all sorts of noise when driving steady (because you're actually going ever so slightly on then off then on throttle).

I swapped the Dansk for a factory style 2 in 1 out, and the idle went up, smoothed considerably, and the a/f ratio went leaner (based on the burning eyes test )

I'm sure that the PO never had the CIS retuned after putting that exhaust on.
