More Speedvision, er .. Speed Channel

Hmmmm ... I flipped on the new "Speed" channel a couple of times during the day today. They've got the new 'Speed' logo in the upper right corner, but under it is a "NASCAR TV" logo?! This was displayed even while they were showing some pre-season F1 testing ........

Curt - I turned it on last night to catch some of the "premier" a little after 9pm est. but could only stomach about 5 minutes of the Nascar lovefest that they were showing.

Unbelievable to think that the Australian GP is less than 3 weeks away and we are faced with the possibility of no F1.

UUUUUUUUUUGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHH!

Curt....Who is THAT doofus on the TV shot?

(After looking at the TV listings, I haven't had Speed Channel on since the Daytona 24hrs. Considering pulling the plug soon, but will wait and see if Sebring and LeMans get decent coverage.)

Hate the new Nascar format as well.

Went to their site yesterday and they are saying that they will cover the F-One season and give times for the TV coverage.

Is there still any doubt that we will see F-1 on TV here in the states?

Have you seen the 2 page ad in Car and Driver...

The top 1/2 of both pages is a HUGE pic of Nastycar
and there are tiny boxes below lisitng
ALMS, CART, F1, WRC, etc....

you can tell what the priorities will be...

They better not phase out Legends of Motorsport!!!!

NASCAR.....BOOOOOOO!

I was ordered to stay at home by my doctor today - the NASCAR coverage is tolerable for the first couple of hours, but must they replay it ALL DAY LONG?!

Again, in case I didn't make my sentiments well known;

NASCAR.....BOOOOOOO!

I don't mind watching a bit of the National Autosport Centered Around Rednecks, but only if there's nothing else on. I can't believe how many different shows they have all talking about the same thing! Inside NASCAR, NASCAR Garage, This Week in NASCAR, Last Week in NASCAR, blah blah blah.

I feel sorry for my friends in the 'States who like to watch racing other than a bunch of farmers going around in circles. Fortunately for me, I'm out in Europe now, so I can go out with my buddies just about anywhere with a TV and see F1! If anyone misses it, I'll let you know how it goes.

Go Minardi! I hope they get a point this season...

Now if only TBS would start showing "Days of Thunder" again...

NastyCar coverage - plunging us headlong to the lowest common denominator. Sucks.

The recent Speed Channel schedule is unfortunately turning into what some of us feared.

Monday night - Nascar Preview
Tuesday night - Nascar Preview

When I checked the schedule for Wednesday night, guess what I found - that's right Nascar Preview.

I think it's on a loop that can't be stopped. I don't remember any other show in the past that repeated on 3 consecutive nights.

nascar AND SPEED CHANNEL

Remember that this is the Daytona 500 week. It should improve. I also agree, the nascar characters are exactly that! Probably very smart guy - just don't always sound that way.

Bernie E can be sort of strange too.

Thumbs down

Don't forget "NASCAR Classics" where they show `70's and `80's race footage. God knows what we would do if we didn't have that! Somebody should email this thread (and all other previos Nastycar threads here) to the Speed Channel exec's. Maybe with enough feedback they will take the hint.

Arrggghhh! Speed TV has got to go. If I hear one more commercial touting the Daytona 500 as "the most important race in the world" I'm going to lose it!

I've got a feeling that the ROW couldn't care less about that race. I'm going to give it a couple of more weeks then I'm pulling the plug.
