Perma-Tune Coil Resistance Spec
Does anyone know the primary and secondary coil resistance specs for a Perma-Tune SC010 ignition coil?
According to my Porsche shop manual, factory coils are primary 0.4 ohms to 0.6 ohms and secondary 650 ohms to 790 ohms. My Perma-Tune coil measures 0.9 ohms on the primary side and 9.8k ohms on the secondary. Is this good or bad? Thanks, Tony |

Does anyone have one of these coils they would be willing to measure and share their results?
Thanks! Link: Zim's Autotechnik Perma-Tune Coil, 911 69-83/930 76-89 |

Those specs are correct for the Perma-Tune coil which are different from the Bosch coils. That is why we do not recommend using the Perma-Tune coil with the Bosch ignition box.
Also check for oil leaking out of the coil. Resistance is not the most reliable way to check the coil. A megger or a distributor machine is the best way to test any ignition coil. |

What will happen if you use the Perma-Tune coil with the original CDi box?
