Advise 911R Scheel Factory Racing Bucket Seats Restoration
I need your opinion, suggestions...
I'm trying to determine which is the best qualified shop to restore a pair of factory original Scheel seats. I would appreciate a 'pm', or email me directly at ajserrano at msn . com. If you own a seat restoration shop, please feel free to contact me as well. My goal is to NOT over-restore, but to try and maintain as much as possible, all those small but important (to me) factory original construction details. Maybe I'm being too demanding, but I only want to do this once. It has to be done correctly, without compromise (not unless there are no other options). Should I try and save the original vinyl, the hand-stitching and make repairs keeping some of the patina along the way, or do I replace it all new? Here are a few photos, but the larger more detailed pix can be seen in the two links below; Scheel 911R Original, never restored (missing corduroy cloth) 914-6 GT's Photo Galleries at pbase.com Scheel Early (1968) Original, never restored (w/corduroy cloth) 914-6 GT's Photo Galleries at pbase.com Thank you all in advance for your comments and suggestions... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Call Rod Emory (or another serious restorer) and ask him where he would send it. Those are big $$ and authenticity will be key.

Tony at Autobahn.... 20+ years with Auto's Intl, then know his own company for the last 8 to 10. He's done literally dozens of seats for me, all Recaro Sport seats, and vintage Race buckets. He does all of Emory's work that they send out.
He does a lot of the work for: Roads Scholars "the air cooled guys", Klubsport, Jim Newton, Racecraft, etc etc., and probably 90% of the Early S Registry and I would guess 100% of the RGruppe from what I've seen. cheers, Eric
