Help! Gear shift bushing!

Have stuck a snag replacing the bushings on my 1977 911 5 speed. How on earth do you get the shifter rod bushes out! Have removed the shifter and the rear coupler and replaced those parts ok but the bush on the shifter rod is fighting me. Do you slide it all the way to the rear of the rod? What gives.

Wayne you said it was easy in the book! How do you remove the sucker?

Any Help greatly appreciated.

James in Oz.

Well, on my 3.2, you have to remove the set screw of the shift rod coupler, remove the coupler then slide the bushing assemble forward and off.

Snap off the old bushing, place new bushing and replace in reverse order.
