I use a 997 GT3 4.0L titanium muffler on my Fabspeed headers. Great and super light set up! And you can valve the exhaust for LOUD and INSANE LOUD options. Great for pissing off the neighbors!!!

Brian Bodart headers @ rarlyl8, gt3 style muff. When I was researching the purchase, I thought it was going to be too loud so I bought the quiet riot baffles at the same time, direct from qr's website. Installed everything at once and actually thought it was too quiet. I had the baffles in for about 2 days then sold them. Side note, I never believed they worked as described. I like the principle, but the spring pressure seemed too excessive when moved by hand to think that exhaust pressure was ever going to ' open them up'. Thought about mounting a camera to check, but never did because I thought were too quiet anyway...

I may be in the minority though, I still don't think it's that loud without the baffles. Someday, when I have some extra coin burning a hole in my pocket, I thought of having another muffler customer made. Same gt3 external, but whatever baffles are on the inside, I want a lot less of them! If it wasn't for my respectable neighbors, I would run this stinger more often. I put it on once or twice a year for a few runs. Doesn't sound great when letting off the gas at low rpm. Similar to a Ford pinto with a leaky exhaust manifold and rusty muffler. But it's sounds like a full blown rally car above 4K. With a throttle blip between shifts, it gives me chills!

Beautiful car, smooth, sleek and elegant with lovely details. Nice job. I think some video clips are in order?

1985 M491 with 70's style dual outlet muffler. M & K Pre Muffler (replacing CAT). Runs and sounds great. No drone.

Would love a set up like that but in good old California I have to run a CAT still, grrrrr. Does anyone make a set up that incorporates that?

Sport conversion from Up Fixin' / pano

Did the old school conversion following the Up Fixin' der Porsche vol. IV article from an old Panorama.

First I started with a rough mockup to see if I would even like two out. Also moved the tubes around to see if I wanted GT3, rally or other spacing.

I thought it would be cool to center them perfectly under the license plate so that, If I wanted, I could put the original US bumperettes back on and the tips would clear them.

Here's my original muffler. It's a 2 in with an EGR bung. I had the hole welded shut when I did the rest of the mods.

The original one out hole with new flat cap welded on.

Showing the internal mods. Essentially two cut holes. The left side becomes a nearly direct pass through.

I had short tips put on because I had always planned to put the original Porsche black stock tips on. They proved too difficult to size and affix.

I ended up buying these fleabay 904 style cookie cutter tips.

I also had to reweld the right exit. The Up Fixin' article doesn't give exact measurements. The odd thing is, the dual outs don't seem to be centered on the muffler itself. The right out is closer, to the mount strap. Since I had the muffler off the car when I did the original mod, the dual outs were not centered exactly and it drove me crazy. After I had it fixed, I covered in high temp bbq white.

It drones at 2k but "Seat of the pants" dyno on my custom 2 out is a huge improvement. I bought a motorcycle baffle for the left out as it was more direct and I felt an immediate nerf of the power. So I took it out.

The sound is really really fun. A downshift to 4th on the freeway for a hard pull and shift back to 5th is glorious. Tunnels are my favorite.

The downside is being a dude with loud exhaust. The upside is really hearing every gear change and rpm.

I also have a one out Bursch muffler and seat of the pants dyno blows it away. Whenever I mount the Bursch, I miss hearing the car.
