3.6 (81 SC) conversion fuel lines
I have a few last bits to source for my conversion project.
3.6 engine into an 81 SC I believe this car is the same as my 83 which had a hard supply and return line with 14mm female connectors that will stay with the car. One line from the pump and the other the return to the tank. I have two fittings that go into these that are 14mm male with convex ends. The opposite end are barbed. They are the original fittings for this application but I have removed the crimp ends and the hoses that were attached. The plan is for the supply line will go across the rear of the engine compartment to the fuel filter. (I have the filter and bracket from the 964 donor) The filters have female threads so that different adapters with crush washers can be installed. (I already have the line from the filter to the engine all set.) I have two different adapters that fit into the fuel filter. On the hose side, both are male ends with concave inverts. One is 14mm and one is 16mm. (14mm stuff and smaller hose on the SC and 16mm with a little larger hose on the 964 setup.) On the return the line will go from the hard line on the car to the bracket on the left side of the engine, It has a 16mm male fitting with a inverted "concave" end the stock 964 end. I anticipated using AN-6 lines and adapters, but I can't find the correct combinations for what I need. So I'm looking for help and Ideas. The car will be used in DE events, but no racing. Can I just re-use the original style fittings on the car end of these hoses with a good hose clamp. In cutting off the stock ends, they didn't even seem to be crimped tightly onto the hose. The other ends (16mm) probably have bigger barbed connections. What's the secret????? Thanks! I need a short return that will connect to the engine return which is

batinc.net has all that stuff. 14 and 16 male metric to -6 male
fittings and straight -6 hose ends. they also have metric 14 and 16 hose ends female to fit your male nipples depending on which filter you're using |

Do a search of your area and see if you have a good local speed shop or company that deals with making fuel lines. I did that and found a local shop that is just in the hose business. They were able to take some of my stock fittings and welded/brazed on to them the correct male or female AN fitting so I could attach AN fittings without having to use hose clamps. Remeber you will be running decent pressure on the high side and clamps make me nervous. I have been running my EFI conversion for 8 months now and not a hint of a leak.

Another option is a hydraulic hose shop such as hose headquarters. They can make up fuel lines with whetever end you ir they supply. The cost will be under $15 if you supply the ends (your old ones).

Thanks all!
If anyone has other leads let me know! Unfortunately my area has relativly few hydrolic shops and also unfortunate the hose sizes are also different for the hose ends that I have. I looked at batinc.net once earlier this week but didn't see them. I'll go back and look harder. Maybe I'll have to call.

Ok went back to BAT. They show the 14 &16 mm female ends that will
connect directly to the AN-6 hose without an adapter which is just what I am looking for on one end of each hose. They don't seem to have an end or an adapter for the 14mm male end with a convex tip. These are the ends that I need to attach to the hard lines on the car. Seems like someone should have these, but I'm striking out so far. Any more ideas out there?

In the picture below the yellow fitting is the one that goes into the hard line. I'd really like to find that male fitting 14x1.5 that hooks directly to an AN-6 hose or an adapter that would have this end on on side and a male AN-6 on the other side.
Above the yellow fitting is an adapter that I found that is 14x1.5 male x 5/16 female with the convex inner cone shape. I could possibly get an adapter for that that will take it to the standard AN-6. The only problem is that the hole is smaller and may not provide enough fuel flow. My guess is that the SC sized lines and fittings are already marginal for a 3.6. ![]()

It was machined by Steve (A local DORKI !) That's some nice work! It would be nice to purchase this off the shelf! ![]()

Can you take off the fitting in your picture and attach directly to the part with the BAT fittings? I've been able to attach to all the stock lines with BAT fittings on my 930.

Contact Len at Autosports engineering in MA. He has a metric swaging tool and can build the lines. He's very reasonable. (800) 356-9146
I used Len to add a Porsche fuel rail fitting to my -6 AN fuel line, which came from the fuel filter itself. len@autosportengineering.com Doug

Bumping this old thread, looking for the fitting below.
Does anyone make this adapter these days? 14x1.5 to the CIS feed/return lines adapted to AN -6
