Hey Fellas,
So I was drove back from a long round trip, to Stockton and back. Couple of days later I devloped a stick clutch feel, damn not again ![]() I was under her working on other stuff and asked my wifey to press the clutch for me, confirmed, it was sticky due to dirt build up. I would normally remove the Helper Arm with Omega spring to clean and lube the shift shaft and pivot pin. Being lazy, I decided to attempt to just clean and lube the pivot pin on the trans where the Omega spring rotates when the clutch pedal is depressed. Remarkably, that is all it took, she is smooth now. QUESTION: has anyone used some kind of dust boot for the pivot pin or for that matter the Omega spring assembly. Every oil change, I am constantly cleaning that damn area for dirt. If I skip the maintenance it will start developing a stick clutch pedal feel and Yes the T/O bearing and Guide Tube and even pilot are brand spanking new and properly lubed using hi-temp Porsche Lube. Jim

I never had a dirty spring issue or have ever read of it being an issue other than greasing it when it's removed. And definitely never read of a dust boot for them

Have you removed and inspected the omega spring mounting plate from the transmission to make sure it is not the problem?

Yes, I have, it is not compromised, literally it is dirt and dust from the road caung at the causing the spring at the pivot to be bindy. a little spray lube then grease is all it needed..
But I think a dust boot would help alot

abides.

There should be a washer and o-ring keeping dirt out of the needle bearings in that pivot.
Edit: it appears there should also be a cover on the underside of the shaft - 900 036 016 02 - which I think I am actually missing.

Sorry, it is not an issue at the bearing but the "HOOK" where the end of the spring hooks on to and has to pivot along with the arm. Where the pin stick out from the trans.

I know you have done a lot of work on the clutch and pedal assembly. Can you describe how the clutch is sticky? When you installed the clutch were clutch cable and the pressure plate changed. The omega spring is just to assist in making the clutch pedal easier to depress. Can you post a picture of the arm and spring with the clutch pedal at rest and then depressed.
