anyone color match engine tins

in the process of painting my car, light blue metallic, and wondering if anyone has ever color matched their engine tins,...

i would paint the tops blue, and undercoat the bottoms black...

Looking good!

Yes, seen it done. It can look good. Just remember "less is more" -- don't color match every little bracket...

Besides, not much risk -- if you don't like it, it's just paint and easy to strip and re-do.

Build it your way.

yes i am not into color matching everything, but for some reason, i cant get this idea out of my head,....i think it would look really good, in my head atleast

*Please note, one doesn't realize how bad this looks when one is happily painting everything...it's only when one puts the engine back together that the cacophony of color becomes apparent...

Not yet, this weekend. My engine bay isn't color matched, it's silver. However, I have a foil style sound pad so it *seems* like it's even more red...

that looks like the engine shroud, i am talking more about the tins around the engine that seal it to the car.

I'm pretty sure you would not want the rearmost section in fiberglass for a turbo - I think the heat would make a mess of that in no time (maybe not?) - anyone tried it?

yes i agree and would die to own a set like that,

1. trying not to spend money on things that are not "needed"

2. worried about heat from turbo, as already mentioned
