Sad day!

How fast do you think he was going?

Pretty sure it will buff out, because my dad has an awesome set of tools, he is a TV repairman.....

I was going aprox. 70MPH, minding my own business, in the #3 lane, 0530 on my way to work.....

Well, at least you are OK. At 70 mph suppose it could have been much worse. Always sorry to see a pcar get smacked but cars can be repaired.

It is buckled at the "B" pillar, I don't think that this a fixer. Insurance company is gonna feel the pain.....
The hundreds of hours I sent tuning, tweaking and massaging is wasted, gone, its frustrating, try to have something nice and stupid chitheads will ruin it for you. I want a D9 Caterpillar with nerf bars, slow but will make short work of traffic....

What a drag. Definitely a write-off. I'm very sad for you.

Details, please. Where did this happen and how? Was this just one of those "Shytte Happens" moments or a result of the Campaign to Prove Darwin Wrong? A few years back I was in an 8-week old BMW when it was totalled by an unlicensed, uninsured, and undocumented person on his way to help his boss avoid paying Minimum Wage and Workmen's Comp. The silver lining was that my Uninsured Motorist coverage had to deal with me in good faith and I got another brand-new BMW out of the deal.

Just trying to increase my own situational awareness...

That idiot must have been hauling.

How is your back feeling?

Hope all goes well with the insurance settlement.

Makes you want to get one of those "disposable" 996s or 997s.

Don't throw in the towel too quick, see if it can be fixed.

Wow...I would be so upset...sorry this happened to you. If they want to total it...see if you can get a check and buy the "wreck". You could use your parts on the next one, maybe? Again really sorry to hear and see this, glad your not hurt.

First off glad to hear you are OKAY, and were able to walk out of the car. I am sorry to hear this.

Pretty disgusting people do this. In my opinion they should do time in jail - a couple months. Maybe next time they'll friggin think about it before being a complete and utter moron. Or, his future paychecks get send to Zuffenhausen to rebuild your car at the expense of Porsche Classic. Or take something he's put his heart and soul into and trash it. Oh wait - he probably hasn't put his heart and soul into anything.

But, trying to make it into something positive: You are OKAY, and shows how strong these cars are.

All be safe, have a good one!

Cheers

Wow, I'm really sorry. I hope nobody got hurt.

Whatever happens, I hope that you end up feeling ok about the results. The hit and run on my car that happened a few days ago is still far from resolved, but I think it will end up alright.

I definitely feel ya on the agony of knowing how much time and energy could suddenly be taken away from you.

Sorry... You're not alone.

Michael

Ouch! Looks like she was your baby. Unfotuneatly, mixing with the inatentive is part of the risk we take everyday. In my experience, its usually a pickup or SUv that has no idea that his fat vehicle is not really under control at his excessive speed.....Clueless. Hope you can get a fair settlement and move on. Expensive to replace a quarter correctly, if te high strenth stEel in the rear seat area is rippled, quite difficult. Looks. Like she could be done right thoughthe cost could exceed market value. Just show the adjuster some recent sales or bids on some slightly older S cars!

All the best.

Dan

If only the US or Canadian customs agents could put a value on your carn you would be in very good shape.

How is the door gap? Put it on an alignment rack to check the four corners if they are good then after the ins. company has their way with it buy it back from them and build your dream car. If its not good then use it to run over the guy that did this (just kidding) sorry to see this but if the tub didnt get tweaked then its fixable.

Eric,
Is this your car? I came over to your house in December and picked up the Cookie wheels.
If so, bummer. It was a beautiful car. Was this on 280, on the way to the airport?
