Does any one make a replacement? Does any one have a used one. I am really reluctant to buy the $750.00 used one I found at Stuttgart Classics and the $4,000(at least) from porsche is out of the question. Also Stuttgart never got back with me to confirm that they actually had one... so that even for $750.00 may not be an option. The constant power going through the tunnel to the fuse overheated and melted everything. Then from the fuse to the chassis the three main plugs have been cut and rigged. So it actually seems like the constant over heated or shorted then a new one was run that has now over heated and shorted. I am too far in to turn back now. I fond some one that may with wiring diagrams be able to build me a new one. I was just trying to see if there was another option. Any advise would be GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!!!

try calling here: They dismantle and know their stuff
SF Bay Area Porsche New & Used Parts || EASY - European Auto Salvage Yard There is a company that does new harnesses but I can't recall their name, maybe a search here.

I would not replace 'old' with 'old' as wiring insulation drys out with age. I'd get or make a new one. If you want original, then Porsche may be your only option other than fixing yours.
If you don't care for originality you can get a replacement universal harness from Painless wiring or you could go to your local wrecking yard and pull the harness out of a newer simple car and adapt it to your car - this will get you all modern fuses and relays but is a lot more work. Thanks for the info
I just want my baby to work again... I am hoping to find a good used one and get it rewired and cleaned up by an auto audio/alarm shop. I would just like to get the rebuildable harness at a reasonable price... I am checking with EASY tomorrow thanks RSTarga for the recommendation. I am gonna run the painless route by my mechanic but I don't think he will be willing to do that. I can't afford the ynz new one. Does any one know where I can get a good color coded wiring diagram?

The fellows over at the Early 911S registry BBS (Early 911S Registry) may be able to hook you up with other sources. You can get a color diagram here: Pelican Parts - Porsche 911 Parts Listings & Diagrams If you have access to a plotter, you can do a nice one in C or D size paper. Or you can bring it to a place that does engineering drawings and they can plot it for you.

I found a used engine to fuse harness for $275!!! I will be able to get it re wired and be good there. I am still looking for a reasonable used fuse to chassis harness. I would love to buy the ynz one and call it a day but I just can't swing the $1600. Does any one by some wild chance have a spair they would be willing to sell me? Does any one build them and sell them for less than $1600 on here? Thank you!!
