I've let a couple of very good friends drive mine, but one was too nervous and stalled a few times. My girlfriend's kids (ages 26 & 28) can take it anytime but my girlfriend is difficult because she prefers her own car. She did drive mine once - never stalled it or ground a gear and she drove it like she owned it. I suppose anyone who has won at Le Mans would also be welcome to my car.

Hi
|
My 2 brothers, my wife and my son.
My brothers and my wife, at some point owned an old VW bugs so shifting a 915 comes relatively easy for them. And my son, I wanted to teach him how to drive his first a manual trans car in the 911 because my first was in a 912, so I thought that would be kinda cool.

I'm not particular about the 911, but I'm the only person who's driven my Speedster since 1973.

Umm, no one but me since October when the cars arrived. My wife drives a stick and should get the style quickly. My 16 year old is just about to get his license, and he'll get a turn with me as hall monitor/DE instructor.
But not until the snow melts a bit. |

Anyone that I know......I always ask "do you want to drive it" they usually say no......and my response is that "its just a bucket of bolts" not any different then any other car. Just cause it says Porsche doesn't mean anything to me.......its just another car.........after all my Dodge truck cost more then this car did........and would you let someone drive your truck?

Me and my wife drive the 911. She's too afraid to drive the 914, she doesn't like the shifter setup and she's afraid to nick reverse. She loves driving in it though. More seat time for me!

Me, my mechanic ... that's it.
I love giving rides to friends, putting a big ole smile on their faces! ![]() I would have to really trust someone and be confident in their driving skills to hand them the keys and quite honestly I don't know that any of my friends would actually ask, knowing how much the car means to me. Perhaps one day. My fiancee I trust but we would have to work on her driving skills first.

As soon as I get the 914-6 put back together I will let my 14 year old son drive it in a big parking lot. Why? - Because that will make his day!

Who drives my 911?
Me and friends that are car guys or also own 911's. I let my wife drive it a few times but she hates the way it shifts (slow & imprecise). Note that she can drive anything and is a former SCCA regional champion. DP Lindman

Not many people, only 3 have driven it other than me. My mechanic, fellow DE Instructor and best friend. Not even the wife has driven the 911, she's scared of it and I'll keep it that way. LOL!! I'm not inclined to allow others to drive it because if they hurt it I'm going to be VERY MAD. I also do not drive other peoples cars aw well.
![]() She drives the Boxster instead.

My friends who own '80's 911's - although I did give a tutorial to one friend who had a G50 instead of my 915.

Me - and my mechanic (who is also me).
I've offered to let my wife, but she's terrified of the car. She's also never driven the 2002. It's not that she can't drive a manual, she's worried she'll break something. I probably need to get her to try.

My twin brother is the only other one who gets to drive them, but why would he want to, he has an 86 Carrera and an '07 Cayman S. I would never let anyone (but my brother, former owner of the car) drive the 70T with the 901 transmission but I am teaching my wife to drive the 89 3.2. G50 is like an American car transmission. I just have to work on her to stop depressing the clutch at all times when the car is not in gear and she does not understand the concept of down shifting. But yes, I am greedy and unless you own a Porsche, you do not drive mine. Steve

I've let quite a few people drive mine. But lately everyone seems scared of it. Is it the HUGE puddle of oil under it or the MASSIVE cloud of smoke billowing from the back?
Nah, just kidding. . . . My sister, dad and a few friends have gotten behind the wheel, but it's pretty much me, because when it's being driven, I want to drive!
