Another off topic: How old are you? Are you older than your car?

well these off topics seem to do pretty well and are entertaining to read. How old are we? Is your car older than you?? Well I guess I will start it out I am 43 and have wanted a 911 since I was about 16 and finally realized my dream car and obviously I am older than my car..lol but there seems to be some younger owners here lets hear from you.

Well, I'm 36 a mere 8 years older than my car (a 1973 911T).

But I did have a few friends and colleagues in the UK who were younger than the car - it freaked some of them out, especially as 911s are quite timeless and to a non expert it can be quite difficult to date the car (this is changing now of course as time marches on).

PS: I can remember quite clearly deciding I would have a Porsche one day when I was 10 years old, although I'd been mulling it over for a year or two before then!

I think I'm the youngest P-car owner on here at 19 (born in January, 1982). My 1978 911 SC is 23 years old making it four years older than me.
I have wanted a 911 since I can remember and I achieved my goal when I purchased it at the age of 18.
This is my first Porsche aswell as my first car and I plan on owning many more in the future.

Too bad I made some mistakes that only a young, overexcited kid would when purchasing my car. Ah well, its all in the name of education!

P.S. Mommy and Daddy didn't have anything to do with this one I am proud to say

Gaijinda,
I have just the brunette for you, 81, hope that's early enough. She is however red from the waist down, but barely broken in.

I am 27, being born in January 1974. My wife is a late '74 model, September.

911 SC is a mid '79 and is 21.
VW Microbuss is a '66 and is 34.
Chevy C-10 is a late '71 and is 29.
Cadillac Catera is a late '99 and is 1.
House '72 and is 28. Love that big garage, yard, and construction. Don't love the harvest gold bathroom!

So 50% of my stable is older than me. Also my next Porsche will be older than me, hopefully an early soft-window Targa project similar to what Jack Olsen has done.

I'm a 1968 model, but my Porsche is a 1987. I grew up thinking 911's were ugly. Our neighbor owned a car dealership and I spent my teenage years watching 911's, 930's, Ferrari's and even a Lambo drving up and down the street.
Then one day I was just looking at a 930, and it's lines suddenly became sexy ( I think this was shortly after going through puberty). The rest is history :-)

I'm 43. I've never had a car older than me, and it looks like that may never happen. 911s began about eight years after my birth. A '33 Ford would be kinda cool though.

I expect my SC to outlive me though. At least, that's the plan. I guess the thing to avoid is perishing at the same moment as your car.

I am older than anyones car at 45. My son, Ian is probably the youngest P-car owner at 15. His 44 was built in 83, my 911 was built in 83.

I'm 47 (Dec. 53) and my car is a 70. I remember being 16 (that's when my car was built) and standing on the Porsche/Audi showroom floor staring at a brand new 1970 911S. I wanted it so bad. I think it was $15000. It might as well have been a million.(I did get a new car the next year- a 1971 Pinto for $1971.00). I've never forgotten that day and one day not too far away, my car will look like the one I saw that day. By the way- I remember when "I Love Lucy" was a new show, but my favorites were "Rt 66" and "Sky King".

I am 21 on Sunday and the car is 29! I love that it is that age, and the whole 70's feel it conveys.

I think I am gonna have to get some gear together (roll necks, orange flares etc.) to make the spectacle complete

My '87 VW Golf CL is coming up to its 14th birthday. Man, does it feel tired now. I need me a new car.

I'm 45 , my SC is 19 next month.
Get this , Last night my wife picked up a Porsche Museum brochure and looking at the 356s , said that they looked just like my car , but better. She said it would be great for me to get a 1956 model that would be as old as me. !!!!
Wheeeeee!!!!!!
I guess I better take my name off the list for the new Mini-Cooper S and start checking the 356 Registry!!!!!!!!
