tach inaccurate
85 carrera with a tachometer that stopped working before I got it. The tach is original
and probably never serviced. Sometimes it does work. Most days it works for a moment and then goes back to zero. The engine runs perfectly. When its hot it seems to work better than cold. I wonder if there are bad soldering joints? |

Tachometer
My 1977 911s suffers from the same problem, although my tach works better when its cool outside. when i park the car outside in the sun on hot days the tach gets stuck around 2-4k. Sometimes it just rest at zero.
At one time it would correct it self with a tap on the glass but, that doesn't seem to work anymore. I checked for correct alternator function and everything its fine. I think i need a new tach. Last edited by noavgdrvr; 08-09-2012 at 01:04 PM.. Reason: content |
