Paint - P-2
Blocked out the entire car, then laid down some more surfacing primer, then I'll do it all over again tomorrrow.

Widebody, damn, You make me feel like I should paint my car.
I am not happy about the paint I have on my car, and seeing these pictures really make me feel I should do something about it.

I have to say...
Thom's is the ultimate "middle-year" car! I'm envious...

Thom-
Maybe I missed a thread, but are you changing the color? I ask because I noticed you didn't remove the windshield. I always thought that if the windshield wasn't removed the paint would inevitably lift and crack at the edge around the windshield rubber.

Im not sure if widebody is using them but they make these little wedges that you can slip under the rubber lip so your primer and paint can get under it. Not the best way but very close.

I am removing the windshield and subsequently replacing the rubber. I cut the existing rubber right at the edge of the tim piece, and removed it, like a big "O" ring. I'm leaving the windshield in 'cause it's easier to use it to support the masking than to have the paper and tape hanging over open space, see? Paint will get down into the edges of the windshield, although it won't get down to the inner seal lip - that's OK with me.
Some people lift up the rubber and use weedeater cord to hold it up.

Yes, but it would have have been an awkward read as "///Mink cut out the windshield rubber..."
///Mink's been over every night this week sanding and doing body work (he's much better at it than I am). If it wasn't for him, and Dustin, the 13 year-old kid down the street, and my next door neighbor whose name I don't know and who doesn't speak a bit of English, this car wouldn't have progressed nearly as far or as fast!
